Hi There and Welcome!
Is this your first-time seeking counseling? Are you feeling nervous, unsure, or excited? Or are you familiar with the process and in need of a little extra help right now? Regardless, taking the first step is the hardest! I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully taking you beyond that first step. However, before we get there, let me tell you a little bit about me.
I view counseling as a collaborative and relational process in which the foundation is built on mutual trust and commitment. The relationship between counselor and client is the vehicle through which change can occur. Therefore, it is my intended goal to create a safe, trusting, supportive and non-judgmental environment. I am passionate about helping others heal their “open wounds,” and I can’t wait to hear more about you! It would be an honor to join you on your healing journey and provide additional support along the way.
My intended therapeutic goal is to help the clients gain personal insight and growth, while also developing a deeper understanding of themselves to live a more fulfilling and meaningful life. There are many different approaches to the therapeutic process. I primarily utilize an integrative approach, leaning heavily on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with focus on arousal regulation, mindfulness, and attachment theory.
Education & Training
Bachelor of Science in Psychology – The University of Texas at Austin
Master of Arts in Professional Counseling – Texas State University
Outside the Office
I love cooking and am constantly looking for new recipes to hone my skills. I enjoy spending quality time with friends and family, and am always down for a new adventure or activity (bouldering is a new favorite!). I also enjoy curling up with a cup of coffee and a good book.
Favorite Quotes
“It’s never too late to become who you want to be. I hope you live a life that you’re proud of, and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start over.” — F. Scott Fitzgerald
