Born and raised in Austin, I knew at age 13 that I wanted to be a therapist. I earned a dual licensure in both professional counseling and marriage and family therapy so that I would be qualified to help individuals, couples, and families address a wide range of life issues.

Over the past 10 years in private practice, I have developed my clinical specialties to address the unique challenges of adult males, couples, and moms. My therapeutic approach is authentic, genuine, and open-minded. I use techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy and systems theory to help my clients identify thought processes and communication patterns that help or hinder their relationships. Ultimately I strive to help people build healthy relationships with themselves and others.

As my client, you will be able to set the goals for your therapy, and I am there to provide continual guidance and support along the way. I am passionate about my work and love what I do.

Wanting to change can be frustrating and bring up so much shame. I work with clients to explore what is preventing them from achieving their goals. Therapy is a safe place to work through unresolved feelings, learn how to lean on others, and feel confident in your ability to set limits in relationships.

I believe good therapy works with thoughts, emotions, and the body. If you have read body language, you have seen emotions and thoughts impact a person’s body, from posture and facial expressions to breathing, heart rate, gut feelings, and more. I use talk therapy to help clients communicate with the less logical parts of themselves. This is especially helpful when clients are under stress because big feelings don’t make people more reasonable. If you are doing your best and still feel stuck, come see me.

I see individual adults and couples only. Areas of specialized experience include grief, shame, and trauma, including medical trauma. I also help foster resilience in parents of medically complex children.

“More and more I’ve come to understand that listening is one of the most important things we can do for one another. Whether the other be an adult or a child, our engagement in listening to who that person is can often be our greatest gift. Whether that person is speaking or playing or dancing, building or singing or painting, if we care, we can listen.” ~ Mr. (Fred) Rogers

Is life feeling extra hard these days? Are you feeling lonely, overwhelmed, unmotivated or even dissatisfied, and you can’t quite put your finger on it? I believe we are all doing the best we can given the resources we have at the time, but sometimes we find ourselves in need of new resources. That is where I come in. Therapy is a means of providing new resources.

It is not only my job as your therapist to equip you with new resources, but also help you unravel the internal chaos and make better sense of it all.

I operate from a client centered approach. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is the most critical part of therapy. And therefore, I offer a safe and non-judgmental space for you to talk about whatever it is that isn’t working for you in your life.

It is a privilege of mine to be able to walk alongside you through the journey of self-discovery and brings me such joy to think of all the beautiful and unexpected places that this journey can take you.
