Led by Susan Gonzales LPC‑S, LMFT‑S
Susan is a successful private practice clinician, group practice owner and dual licensed supervisor who has provided group and individual supervision for over 10 years. She has worked with up to ten supervisees at a time and has been a master’s level clinician for 17 years.
I host these in-person intentionally because supervisors need community, consultation, and connection, not just CEUs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Marital and Family Therapists who are interested in becoming Clinical Supervisors in Texas, or would like to learn more about what Supervision entails.
20 hrs of home study material (provided one month before the training, and can be completed up to 90 days post-training) and 20 hrs of small classroom experience (in Austin, TX) that satisfies all legal requirements to become an LPC-S or LMFT-S. Content covers supervisory roles and relationships, models and stages, methods, tools and techniques, ethics, power with heart, cultural diversity and LGBTQIA+ challenges, professional tasks and assessment, supervisor identity, self-renewal, marketing, and more.
Texas requires LPCs to hold full licensure for 5 years and LMFTs for 3 years before applying to become a clinical supervisor. However, the Wingspan designation is valid for two years before expiration, so many clinicians choose to take this course earlier in order to be fully prepared to launch when they hit the five-year mark. Learn more about Texas supervisor requirements here.
Class sizes are limited to 10-12 participants to maintain an intimate learning experience!
After the training, you’ll have 90 days to complete the home study component. You’ll then receive your certificate and personalized feedback from Susan of your home study. Graduates are also invited to join the Wingspan Supervisor community through our Google and Facebook groups for ongoing support, networking, and supervision discussion. Once your Supervisor designation is official, you’ll also be added to the Wingspan Directory for Texas Associates seeking supervision.
The total cost of the entire 40-hour training is $930. We offer early bird specials to registrants who pay up to 60 days prior to the training for $900.
Fees are non-refundable, however, can be applied towards future courses within one year of the original course date.
