Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this training for?
Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Marital and Family Therapists who are interested in becoming Clinical Supervisors in Texas, or would like to learn more about what Supervision entails.
What is the format of the 40hr training?
20 hrs of home study material (personally reviewed by Susan) and 20 hrs of small classroom experience (in Austin, TX) that satisfies all legal requirements to become an LPC-S or LMFT-S. Content covers supervisory roles and relationships, models and stages, methods, tools and techniques, ethics, power with heart, cultural diversity and LGBTQIA+ challenges, professional tasks and assessment, supervisor identity, self-renewal, marketing, and more.
When is the best time to take this course?
Texas requires LPCs to hold full licensure for 5 years and LMFTs for 3 years before applying to become a clinical supervisor. However, the Wingspan designation is valid for two years before expiration, so many clinicians choose to take this course earlier in order to be fully prepared to launch when they hit the five-year mark. Learn more about requirements here.
How big is this training?
Class sizes are limited to 10-12 participants to maintain an intimate learning experience!
What happens after completing the training?
You will become a part of the Wingspan Community! This includes an active Google and Facebook Wingspan Supervisors group for ongoing supervision questions, as well as a large referral network for potential LPC and LMFT Associates seeking supervision.
How much does the training cost?
The total cost of the entire 40-hour training is $930. We offer early bird specials to registrants who pay up to 60 days prior to the training for $900. What is your return policy? Fees are non-refundable, however, can be applied towards future courses within one year of the original course date.
